Can I buy one of your costumes? Are they for sale?

No.

Why not?

Because everything I do cosplay wise is for fun, and a hobby. I make these outfits to wear for myself, and have fun in, and I would like to keep them around for continued use. This is not a career or a profession for me, and I do not make money doing it... nor do I want to.

Do you do cosplay/costume commissions? Will you make me an outfit or one of your outfits?

I'm sorry I don't do cosplay commissions or custom dress/costume work of any kind.

Why not?

I'm not a professional seamstress, and the ends to not justify the means. Meaning, the amount of time and money I would spend making your dress/costume would not equal out to be worth while for me. There's a LOT that goes into making these costumes, and I have so much on my plate as it is with school and the costumes my boyfriend and I are doing that I just don't have time to devote to a customer.

Will you do artwork commissions?

Yes. I will only do sketches though because I'm not very good at coloring stuff and what I do color always takes me ages to complete. I don't have much of a technique at it ^_^;;

Can you do an art trade with me?

Sorry at the moment I don't have time for that kind of stuff. I'd so love to do it eventually though!

Will you cosplay ______ character from ______?

I'd love to be able to cosplay things that people think I should do, but when I make costumes it's always of a character I really really love and I'm really into. I've only done one costume of a character I knew nothing about (Noelle from MMPPP) and my heart really wasn't in it when I made the costume. Cosplaying characters you love is truly what is fun in cosplay. I'm gonna stick to that ^_^!

Can I make an art request?

Sorry again for this. I'd love to have the time to just draw all day but if I'm gonna do any art for people it has to be a commission. Time is money friend!

So you make all your costumes yourself?

Yes I do! Everything that I wear in my pictures is either made entirely by me, or styled/altered by me (i.e. boots, wigs, etc.) If it's something I didn't make then I am sure to specify in the picture that I didn't make it, and properly credit the person who did.

Who is the model in all the costume pictures?

That would be me--or my sister. All of the photos in my gallery are either of me or of my sister in a costume I have made for her. If you are curious who the model is, read the caption below the pic. Usually I specify.

Why didn't you reply to my note/comment?

I assure you I see and read everyone's notes and comments. Sometimes I reply, sometimes I don't. I appreciate all the nice things you say--and I apologize if the fact that I didn't reply offends you. Please keep in mind I get a lot of comments so it's difficult to reply to all of them. Just know that they are all seen and appreciated

Can I use your photos as stock?

NO. My photos are not to be used for stock of any kind. If you wish to use one of my photos for something professional in nature, please send an email to Kyle Johnsen (cosplay.com @ gmail.com) and gain his permission. He is the photo copyright owner.

However if all you wish to do is make a CG of me, or draw one of my photos as a gift of some sort, then Kyle and I are perfectly fine with that. But please do not use my photos as stock. If you are unsure as to where your art project falls in this--feel free to send me a note with what you had in mind for my photos.

How did you style your hair for Aeris?

well first of all wherever I walk as Aeris destroys the o-zone layer. Secondly... all I really do is hold my hair in the position I want it and hairspray it. It's nothing fancy at all ;

Can you help me with sewing?

I can surely try... but giving sewing advice over the internet is pretty difficult without being able to give you a demo. I'd love to help aspiring new seamstresses.

Can you explain to me in great detail how to make one of your outfits?

No. Unfortunately each outfit that I make is a unique learning experience for me, and 50% of the fun in cosplay is learning how to make something yourself. Be innovative! I'm not here to hold anyone's hand, but I can offer you advice on certain outfits.

Who is this "Adella" character you keep drawing?

Adella is a character I created for role play when I was 13 years old. Since then (1995) I have been developing her story. Her appearance was originally based off my own at the time--and I had been styling my hair like Belle from beauty and the beast. Her eye color was originally blue, but it got changed to green when at 14 I decided to make her a vampire while I was in my VTM craze, and I was told by my friends that all vampires have glowy green eyes. So her eyes got changed-- and though she's no longer a vampire they've stayed green and I can't bring myself to change it after so many years.

So roughly Adella's character design was inspired by Belle. (in fact I used to trace disney artbooks of Belle and anime-ify Adella's hair and change it a little bit as my first attempts at drawing her). Contrary to popular belief and ridicule, Adella is not based off Aeris, nor is she inspired by Aeris. Now if she WAS inspired and originally intended to resemble Aeris... I would have said so. Since David Drevin's appearance was inspired by Dias Flac of Star Ocean, and Millisant Krendel is inspired by Pirotess from Record of Lodoss War. Adella was inspired by Belle originally, not Aeris... so the fact that they look a lot alike is not my intent. But I'm not going to change how Adella looks simply because she resembles two characters I cosplay (Helena and Aeris).
