something like 25 hours in photoshop. Around 17 of them spent nonstop. Eeesh. I'm not an amazing artist but I really really tried on this one. Probably more than any other pic.

I'm just going to leave this one as it is because we all know I'm terrible at backgrounds and there's supposed to be a festival going on behind them but its a good 100 yards away and I just don't know how to color something like that yet with my mediocre skillz.

Backstory (YOU BETTER READ THIS BEFORE COMMENTING or I have permission to RAZZ YOU!!!)

Link and Fern dancing

This festival is called Verfete and it is the Ordona Province's northern villages' (there are 6 of them in the north) -celebration of spring- festival. Verfete opens with a ribbon dance mostly like a maypole where the unmarried girls who are of age dance and wind a pattern around the pole with ribbons shaded in the colors of the goddesses. Sort of like an innocent catch-a-husband type deal, since the girls dress very pretty and the dance is witnessed by the entire festival since it is the opening ceremony so to speak. This year was Ilia's first year to dance, and since Fern is technically of age also, Ilia coerced her into doing it also. The dress Fern is wearing is very frilly because she nervously took part in the ribbon dance, and the dress was sewn by Ilia!

The six other villages from all around the north journey to Ordon Village and set up camp there, so it's basically like a mini city for two days with tons of tents and pavilions and events and tournaments and food and merchants and blah. At night they hold bonfires where people sing and they play drums and dance to folk songs etc.

This scene took place between Link and Fern, since he couldn't find Ilia and ended up running into Fern by the bonfire. Push came to shove, and he managed to convince her stubborn butt to dance, and the outcome was that Fern LAUGHED! Which is a feat in itself since she's getting over her dead lover and all. Fern is up in the air cuz it's supposed to be one of those medieval-ish dances where the male partner hoists the female partner briefly up into the air during their little jig.

*mandeh is Fern's owner. *mandeh requested I draw this scene. So consider it yet another spam of Fern love since I think she's a cool character.
